I really don't know how to describe this 14" by 9" by 5" "BIZARRE" Vase by Quebec's BEAUCE POTTERY. I have handled and sold many of their classically designed bowls, vases, ashtrays etc... in the past but how do you describe this thing. My wife pondered it for a long while and finally said, "It will look great on that corner table"......go figure!! It was made in 1961 and is their Model #1510 vase. It is a rare item especially in this mottled Green and Black glaze and was purchased during this morning's garage sale expedition. Except for the double-horned look, if you can provide a better moniker than BIZARRE, then we will use it. RER (BOB)

It certainly looks like it could have been done in Vallauris! I love the iridescent yellows!

Who knows, maybe one of the Artists from the Vallauris area in France immigrated to the Beauce Area of Quebec. It is located South of Quebec City near the U.S.Border and it is very "Francais" there. RER (BOB).

Bob, I stared at this for a good long while trying to figure it out. I am so happy that Eye saw it. As soon as I read whale tail, I instantly see it. Power of suggestion I guess.

Hi AmberRose! I held it in my hands and I couldn't see the Tail at all......all I was seeing was horns. Perspective is so individual. Thank you, BOB
