My dad was given a military funeral that was performed by an older soldier and two rookies. At one point I overheard the older gentleman tell the younger ones to get their act together because this man served his country and he and his family deserve our respect. As they were folding the flag over his coffin our eyes met and I realized his were filled with tears. I will never forget that soldier for the compassion and empathy he showed my father and our family, and wish I could some day thank him.

Thank God there are still Caring and Compassionate People. Our lives would not be the same without them.
