I purchased this vintage 1976 Yamaha IT400C dirt bike off from Craigs List at the end of last summer. I already have two of the Yamaha 1982 it250j models but couldn't resist owning this vintage 2 stroke. I planned on restoring it but as you can see this bike needs very little restoring.

Nice find !! I use to own a '78 IT400, that I purchased through the MC shop that I was working at in '80. I believe that I paid approx. $1000 for it, still in the crate from the warehouse in Vancouver. I had to do the final assembly. It does NOT compare to your 250's or the DT400's at all. This bike is/was not for the faint of heart.
