This Vintage Weller Pottery Velva green vase embodies stylized relief decorations of flowers and leaves in panel. Samuel A. Weller initially produced pottery in Fultonham, Ohio in 1872, and with success he moved his business to Zanesville, OH where he remained in control of the company until his death in 1925. The company closed in 1948.
About the Signature:
There are a number of variations of the fancier Weller incised mark. This particular version has the the word "Pottery" added behind Weller. The example shown here dates to around 1928, according to Kovels' New Dictionary of Marks.
