    Catawba Pottery Mystery

My father knew Foxx and Sarah Ayers personally when they lived in West Columbia, South Carolina. When Sarah had difficulty obtaining clay near the Catawba River (because of a dispute with a neighboring land owner) my father took them to our family land in Fairfield County in search of a source. While the search was fruitless, ties of friendship were formed between Foxx, Sara, and my father. I have six of Sara's pieces and 6 of other artists. I found these all wrapped up in a spare room closet.

All the pieces are in pristine condition. Pictures are with a 24 oz drink can.

Here is the mystery – a person saw the pieces messaged me. He explained no pieces by ‘Sara’ Ayers are signed ‘Sarah’ with an ‘h’. Well, I have them here and I know these pieces came from Sara and Foxx Ayers. D_ _ N! I trudged along as we walked through our woods looking for mud – (which I thought was stupid as a wee lad). Can someone help me work through this conundrum?
