The Luck of the 'Red Bird'. Many don't realize but up to 1925 no Cardinal bird was present on the uniform until 1926; and that's when they Defeated the Yankee Empire winning first Pennant and WORLD SERIES that same year, thus lighting the fire and starting the Cardinal Empire, the Kings of the National League.... Think that was just luck? Well listen to this....... Someone made a very bad decision. (probably a Yankee spy LOL) Shortly after winning in 1946 the Lucky Red Bird was removed from the chest and onto the sleeve of the uniform. (and insult to injury the LEFT sleeve) That decade; starting an 18 year drought that lasted ALL of the 1950's making no contender to the Powerful Yankees Empire allowing Yanks to dominate the 1950's. (I figure at least 4 of 6 Yankee WS wins would have been won by the Cards.) This is where it makes that Red Bird obviously the Soul of the Cardinal Power. In 1964 they not only put it back on the chest and removed from the sleeve but ADDED reinforcements; The Second 'Red Bird'. The powerful duo were leading the way to win it ALL in 1964, 67, and the Pennant in 68. They have never left the Uniforms Chest are again.
I say 4 from their 6 only because presently we are ahead of the Yankees head to head in the World Series with 3 wins out of 5....
If your a Yankee fan; myself and the vast majority of Cardinal Fans have the Highest Respect for your organization and what they have achieved. I will always tip my cap in respect to the New York Yankees. Only Redsox and Mariner fans are allowed to Hate you) Sorry to my home team Seattle Mariners, but your organization just plane Stinks...

This is something I custom made myself. It contains all 11 Wold Series Victories, the 5 St. Louis hosted All Star Games, history of Busch Stadium, and a few miscellaneous others.

My next project will have all 18 of their National League Pennant victories.

Me too because St. Louis Fans are ranked #1 in Baseball.. They are very smart fans; not like here in Seattle where 98% don't even know the starting lineup...

The people that win have Man Caves.... This is only less than 1/3 of my items. CW was nice enough to create a STL Cards link in the teams section for me.... I'm excited and if when product is a success I'll be able to afford the holy grail of pennants. 1926 World Champions and believe it or not 1944 St. Louis Browns American League Champions, who lost to the Cardinals.. Both can tip at around 5k a piece....

As a Missourian born and bread, I have several memorabilia pieces from a couple of the clubs, St. Louis Cards are one of my favs, but still hold the old school team as my favorite, but those are not the Cards, but the "A's". Not a royals fan or for that matter the Chief's either. Love seeing these items and hope you well in your adventure in being #1 fan

Do you remember, back in the day. When Guy's potato chips had baseball premiums in the bag? I have a couple pinback buttons with the St. Louis Cardinals logo, weird that they are yellow and green, but still an oddity piece. I've been doing a move and they were packed up in a box, when I unpack things and run across them, you're more than welcome to one, if you wish.

Wow, I guess what comes around goes around. I have some old cameras from 1930' 1940; 1950, 60, and 1970. (my grandpa bought one ever 10 years LOL) and I'm sending them to rniederman.

I would love one, Thank You.. I can send you my home address via email if you give to me...

    BTW: Comment # 8
Thank You for the complement.. I fell asleep just before your post.
I'm very glad you don't like the Royals because that organization is minor league. However; the A's I do respect and I'm guessing around Kansas City (1955–1967)
when they were in KC is when you became a fan? Well if you combine all their World Series from every city starting with Philadelphia they have earned 9 World Championships, 15 Pennants... Baseball is something I know. It's a shame that when a team moves to a different city 95% of counters give them only 3.. That incredible 3 in a row with Tony La Rosa as manager. That man is a GOD when it comes to leading teams....... BTW Only A's and Yankee's have 3 in a row. Anyone who can't respect that needs to watch football instead.. :)
I'm remaking that patch display, and I'm going to sell my work. When the new one has been posted check it out, it will be 5 times better than the current display.... the A's would make a great display with 9 Patches.....
(I also noticed you don't say Oakland but A's instead so I returned the favor)
I'll even put Kansas City A's on the name plate if you so desire....
Thank you very much for the nice comment..

I know it was Dick Williams that won 3 in a row but Tony made history for the team by having them get there twice for 3 in a row even know not all are wins.

I have several things pertaining to the Kansas City A's from when I was younger, sent many a summer watching and dreaming. Lived in St.Joseph in the 50's to early 70's. hated to see them go. both St. Louis and KC both had training camps and "B" teams in St.Joe back then, watch a couple of pregames between the two at Phil Welch Stadium.

That's awesome.. Not many people would of known or understood why someone from Missouri would like the A's. I think most people would beat their heads; like trying a square pen in round hole :).... Baseball part timers is what I call them..
You were very polite when telling me this and you even complemented the Cardinals first. Right when I got up this morning I was wondering right away if she was old enough to see the KC A's.... I was 10 when I saw Lou Brock hit his 3000 base hit at Busch Stadium.... I was so very glad you stated not liking the Royals... GRRRR Did you see my posting about that?? You should check it out. I only have one group so You'll find it. Make a comment on it... OH btw, if you were a royal fan; there would be no patch Art. :)
