Quite a while ago I posted a picture of a damaged but rare 8.25" Rindskopf asked asked all of you whether I should try to have it repared, which would have entailed cutting almost an inch off the top. Most of you said to keep but not repair (SEE LINK ABOVE)
Well. Patience--the essential virtue for collectors--paid off. Here it is. In perfect condition and 12.5"; 31 cms. tall!
The dealer's description is typically devoid of details:
"You are bidding on an original C. 1920 just lovely and very well conceived antique Loetz art glass vase. Really lovely work here, made in Czechoslovakia with iridescent metallic coloring that captures light in many different hues. A very tall form at just under 12 1/2" tall. A graceful form - and really strong intense glass coloring with a ribbed form and bulbous base -"
Mine. A 12.5"; 31 cm. Rindskopf vase c. 1900. Cut from the top. Green glass covered in metallic blue iridescence, with a honeycomb pattern festooned with the characteristic Rindskopf brick red.
All thing come to him who waits. . .
