    At this stage in her career, a maiko only charges half the price her older geisha sister does as she does not have neither the experience nor the clout to go full price. Around this time her hair ornaments, kimono lengths, and duties at banquets will increase as she nears the 5 year mark of her apprenticeship. She will go through a ceremony where collar will be turned even wider and her kimono and hairstyles will be more simpler and understated as time passes.
