  4. I have noticed now that some of these ads are indeed signed by the artist. Did you see my explanation on the Sante Fe canyon ads?
  5. The No Repeal token is currently on ebay for $100 but has a hole in iy and is in much worse condition then yours.
  6. Pictures will disappear. Photographs could be damaged over time but still usable. Someone loses or damages a disc, the pictures are lost forever.

  8. Try Whitehead & Hoag
  9. Beginning in the early 1900's, Sante Fe Railroad began it's history of use of artistic scenes of the American Southwest in its calendars, posters, advertising, and dining car menus, done by commission...
  10. That Ball logo type was used from 1910-1923. The 5 on the bottom is merely the mold number. These jars were made on an Owens-Illinois Glass mold machine. The blue color of the glass was from the type ...
  11. The second one dark-haired boy looks like a little Hitler in Lederhosen - could Leyendecker have actually forseen the future?
  12. The Spearmint and Doublemint packaging shown both are from the late teens (Spearmint changed in 1926, Doublemint changed in 1932) - based on all the info, you can probably date this circa 1925.
  13. The Juicy fruit packaging shown is the from the mid-20's before it was changed in 1932.
  14. Interesting that a top-brand piano only cost half of what a 17" screen black and white TV cost at the time.
  15. Wow, what similar content.
  16. The military patch looks like a World War II 5th Army Air Force Pacific Theater Patch. One of the military guys will tell for sure.
  17. These are 60 year old ads - a lot has changed here since then.
  18. No - they are just collectible office antiques now. But if the world ever loses its electrical grid, I know how to use them. :)
  19. Libbey Glass - circa 1950's
  20. Not sure if this is the same girl as the previous June ad. The background has changed somewhat and her hair looks a little different. Same pretty smile, though.
  21. That's pretty cool blunder, hope that's just white sand in there and not real Coke. Is that little monster next to it one of those giant St. Maarten sand fleas I've heard so much about?
  22. They could still be napkin holders, but for single cloth napkins such as for seperate place settings.

  25. Looks like the "Coaster" brand - 1950's
  26. TubeAmp - I don't know? If you look up vintage shoe shine stands they had these so you could slip it right onto a post that was attached to the stand. Maybe they were used for both things, cobbler res...
  27. Some of these are quite rare - especially the subject reels. The scenic reels are no longer made and also some of the early TV shows were on them. The current ones are mostly cartoon pictures made for...
  28. Mani - post your photograph, there is no law against it - I have some ads coming up with children with guns and I won't hesitate to post them. Like Phil said, it is todays culture that is the problem,...
  29. Well, Habersham's wasn't founded til 1969 but Drexel goes back a lot further. Does the stamp in drawer say "by Drexel" in a circle?
  30. Where do you get the Drexel name? American Treasures is a registered name for Habershams.
  31. blunder hit it right on the button - it is a foot rest for a shoe shine stand
  32. The foot-shaped one may be an old cobblers tool.
  33. Rangefinder camera lens for a Nikon camera. They also made lenses that fit Canon cameras. The Nikkor name was not used till 1932 so it is later than that.

  47. LOVE IT - pretty sure I have an ad laying around for this one too :)
  48. Living up North a few years ago, I had to do a lot of firewood cutting so you get used to what the insides look like. I could surely tell by the smell of the wood.
