I received this set for my wedding from a family friend who collects old china sets. This set is beautiful but I have a 4 yr old and can't have such beautiful items in my home. If I had a china cabinet I would be afraid he would knock it down! I am not someone who has a problem washing dishes by hand or not being able to microwave because of the gold but I just don't trust my son around it and it should go to a collector who could display it and actually use it for Thanksgiving or tea parties. All of my friends have kids the same ages! We all have Walmart brand dishes:) Not that there's anything wrong with that. They can take a beating I can tell you that! ha

You are fortunate to have such a generous friend!. Perhaps you could store them until your child is older. If you want to sell them, this is not the place, that what eBay or craigslist is for!
