Hi there, I am requesting any ideas or information on this 1920's Sabino NON OPALESCENT Crystal Chick. The Chick is personally signed by Sabino with 'Sabino Paris' I have verified through the current owner of Sabino art glass that it is personally signed and the Paris indicates for sale only in France. I have also verified that it is Pre world war 2. The best guess as to this little birds purpose was a sample or display piece. Possibly a commissioned piece. My question is could this have been a piece used by a salesman to show potential buyers? But why would Sabino personally sign it? If it was a commission wouldn't there be 'for whomever' inscribed as well? Also didn't Sabino originally make clear crystal? So couldn't this be one of his first attempts for making the birds we see listed all over today? Any information would be much appreciated, the knowledge of Sabino's early artistic career seem to be very superficial at best. This is such a unique piece I would really love to be able to find the story behind it as there are very few if any of these floating around today.
