Picked this up for five bucks tonight. Not bad for a 177 year old book. I wasn't familiar with the subject until I did a little research.

James Brainerd Taylor entered the preparatory academy at Lawrenceville, New Jersey at the age of eighteen in 1819. He engaged in missionary work while in school and college, and gained many converts. After his graduation at Princeton in 1826 he studied at Yale divinity-school, taking an active part in the revivals in the neighborhood and in the south, where he fell ill. He died of tuberculosis at the home of John H. Rice in 1829. Soon after, John H. Rice began writing this memoir but soon after also died. His brother, Benjamin H. Rice, finished the memoir and published it in 1833. There is a monument of Taylor in New Jersey that still stand to this day.

Is there any value? Any info is welcomed and appreciated. Thanks for lookin!

I love old books too. I pick up old science, chemistry and math books when I come across them. I'll post a pic of my favorite.

Cool! After the Isaac Newton book episode of Pawn Stars I couldn't resist lol
There were some more books from the 1820's but I didn't want to spend that much.

The best Book find I can remember was a First Edition Mark Twain Adventures of Tom Sawyer, I got $3000. for it 13 yrs back. The other Mark Twain that I kept is Prince and the Pauper with Samuel Clemens Calling Card inside. Love Books, never read them but Love 'em! Dave

Very cool! I love Mark Twain. A few months ago they had Prince and the Pauper from about 1898 under the listing of a first edition...I moved it to another shelf lol

Someone pawned one of Albert Einstein's personal books from his library on Pawn Stars for of course a fraction of it's worth. I would love to have that one in my collection!
