My husband bought this bike at a elderly friends yardsale for $10.00. The only thing we know about it's history is that it was his Mothers. The only thing that we have been able to find out on the internet is that it looks like the bike that the witch had in the Wizard of OZ

This is very nice. It has the really cool headlight, and love that skirtguard. And the springer front end adds to it. Great find.

can anyone tell me more about this bike? year? worth? etc.....

I have been checking in my reference books and the deep fenders, with that two tone paint in that pattern shows up on the 41 model. That headlight is also on the 41 . The chainguard helps , but it is not shown in the photo. The wheel adjusters were used prewar, that you have. I can't tell if your rims are drop center which were prewar. I had a Schwinn with the string skirtguard and it was prewar. If I find any more info I will let you know.
