my girlfriend found this item today at a yardsale for one dollar!! It looks to be an original toy, im guessing from the 60s possibly 50s . STILL IN THE ORIGINAL BOX!!! Unbelievable.
I have searched the web for hours and cannot turn up anything about it. It is a mystery to us. Has anyone ever seen anything like this??? I found it to be a kind of oddity, simply for the fact that it is a pull toy of an inanimate object. ...where most pull toys are of something that moves , animals, trucks, cars, etc. THis one is of a ping pong table????it would have been better suited as a wind up toy. It is in wonderful condition, and it works. Its got some great patina on it and obviously has been stored away for many years.
It has some chinese writing on the box which may help identify it.....if i could read chinese, there was no instructions or paperwork of any kind with it, the heads on the players are removable and are made from rubber. I believe they came in the box already headless because they dont fit in the box otherwise.
I would appreciate any help or advice anyone could give me. I feel like the lack of information on this item on the web may be a good thing. It could indicate that this item may be very rare and therefore more valuable????please respond asap
