day trip to london with parents and brother to see the festival of britain exhibition in london during the summer of 1951.---my age then was 4.
the coin was given at festival.
the flags on the car denote the festival.
i believe the car was a 1936 austin 7, purchased second hand by father
his age in 1951 was 34.

My last car I owned before fleeing Uncle Sambo's Plantation was a 1950 MG TD & my first glance at the pic, I thought it might be one but windscreen looked to tall. Believe you are right about Austin.

reply-as far as i can remember it was an AUSTIN SEVEN , it was very slow and i remember it got stuck halfway up mucklows hill on the way up to the lickey hills, we had to get out and push it round facing downhill and went back home-just as well because when we got a home a massive THUNDERSTORM broke out with SEVERE FLOODING around birmingham.
