Nice find Petey, Thanks for sharing. I was out Treasure finding today and found the exact same Mask w/same #'s, and the Carry Bag has MD in it, w/the anti misting cloth & container. Do you know if this is a US Mask or British Mask by any chance. I know that some claim it was used in Civil Hospitals as a Respirator Mask. Seems there are so many different opinions on this style mask, it gets confusing. Thanks in advance if you can shed some more light on it. Inside on metal around eye lens reads 1941 H.B.S. and 111? Or TL Th?? Cant make it out. Outside on Rubber reads BRF/R 15/4/48? 48 is not to clear? Also reads J.B. Lot20 109 42. Collaro is stamped on the Metal Clamp. On the Strap Center Holder it Reads: No. 4 111 Pa. Nos. 296, 493 & 305,080 N.B.R.2898 19 2 42 Embossed on the side says: SMALL

bvintage, thanks for the love and comment. I am no expert on gas masks, in fact no expert in anything! but the mask I have is British, and whilst you have given a great description of yours, I would still need to see a photo of it to have a better idea. In view of the dates you have mentioned stamped on your find I would suggest the unclear date you have mentioned would probably be 43 for 1943 and not 48
