This is my husbands great-grandmothers chair that she kept in her kitchen so she could sit down and take a break while cooking. My father-in-law put dear skin on the seat because it had fallen apart.

Great original I like it! You should look into restores-a-finish it will make it look real nice hide the blemishes. Liquid gold is junk it will turn orange or pinkish after awhile. http://www.howardproducts.com/restora.htm http://www.vandykes.com/product/feed-n-wax These are two things I couldn't do without.

Thanks for the links! There is so much wood in my house that needs something like that!!

LOL! No, my father-in-law did all the work to the chair. I have another one that isn't fixed up but it has some remanence of an old animal skin on it, not sure if that was original or if it had caning at one time.

I have a bounch of the same type chairs with wicker that were in my 1820 home when I bought and rope beds and the list goes on.We still use our chairs for parties too.
