Egyptian motif art deco ring w/carnelian or glass cabachon. Beautiful large 7/8" size setting. Gold-filled adjustable shank which shows in picture 3 and because I wear it a lot the gold color w/etching has come thru. I've worn this a lot since I found it 20 yrs ago. One of the lotus side embellishments has come away and hopefully it's in one of my jewelry boxes.
Egyptian motifs were popular in the 20's and beyond when Howard Carter finally excavated boy king Tutankhamen's tomb in November 1922. I think this is 1930's w/the copper geometric frame around the stone. I'm not sure and haven't seen another so any help is appreciated.
Gorgeous. Wish I had this one.
It definatly has an art deco feel to it
I love these kinds of rings
Thank you Aimathena, Newtimes & Amber - yes, this is a very nice old deco ring. I love them too - big and dramatic!
