This is German addressed postal card for the "Cologne Carnival". #P277 This is a commemorative card isssued on February 16, 1939 and was sold at, and for use during, the Carnival in Cologne (Koln). Print in brown ink.
POSTAGE: Kolner Karnaval - Deutsches Reich / 6 pfennig / brown
POSTMARK: KOLN Karnaval 1939 / Dated - 20.2.39.-20
- Singendes, klingendes, lachendes - (Singing, Sounding, Laughing)
- Commemorative postmark only used Feb. 16 & Feb. 19-21, 1939
REVERSE: Cologne Cathedral - (German: Kölner Dom) is a Gothic church started in 1248 and completed in 1880. It claims to house the relics of the Three Magi.
It was designated a World Heritage Site in 1996.
