Well only bummer is it’s not frost free. The only thing that has ever had to be done to this fridge is the power cord was replaced. GE and for that matter any other appliance manufacturer(S) would be hard pressed to duplicate this quality. Might any of your learned collectors venture to place an Opinion of Value. It’s not for sale but I have always been curious what the “community” might think is a fair collectors value.
We had one,1929 model that showed the coil on top. The refrigerant leaked one day ( sulfur gas ) and it was like WWI in the kitchen!
Gary, this refrigerator can be frost free! You need a Doray defroster clock is all. They are a wall mounted electric kitchen clock that was made specifically to defrost your refrigerator back when. These clocks have a special function, you mount it on the wall above the refrigerator and plug it into the outlet that the refrigerator would plug into. The clock cord has a special plug which allows you to plug fridge into it also. The clock has a built in switch that will shut off fridge at 1:00 am and back on at 5:00 am allowing the frost to melt into the chiller tray. I have 2 of these in use and never get any frost. Just need to empty chiller tray every couple of weeks.
