This is a membership badge to for "Les Français de Grand Bretagne", a civilian organisation created in 1940 to support the Free French with aid and raising funds. Its President was Mr. De Malglaive.

There appears to be two versions of the membership badge, that with the organisation's name and that without. It has been quite difficult to find out any information to exactly when "Les Français de Grand Bretagne" was formed and its exact role.

This example was found at a French flee market several years ago. The badge is made from gilt metal with enamel detailing and is made by H. W. Miller of Birmingham. The badge is attached via a crescent bar, which is stamped with the membership number. Other examples also used a broach pin attachment method. This is possibly the earlier versions, as suggested by the low membership number.
