This vase is a wonderful example of Art Nouveau decoration. Light amber ribbed glass in an oval shape. The narcissus blossoms are done in a thick raised enamel technique which really makes them stand out. The gold work at the top and bottom is a nice added accent.
    Polished pontil. 14 inches high.

Oh, this one is absolutely gorgeous! The enamel work and pattern is just amazing. And the flowers are Poet's Daffodils (also called Pheasant Eyes), by the way - Narcissus poeticus. (I love them - they grow well in England, but not here in California!)

I too! think this is just so very beautiful..all the colours, from the glass to the enamels work so well...wonderful!...:-)

Fantastic, and kudos to you for buying it. I was thinking about popping on this one myself ... just spent too much time trying to identify it first.

Did you find any confirmation of it being Moser (aside from the listing)? I was leaning another way ...

20th c. : No I did not find any Moser confirmation. You can look at thousands of "Moser" pieces on the internet. Most should probably be called "Moser Style".

I'm with you on the Moser Style issue as well as Moser tending to be a bit more "busy". I have a fair bit of experience with Moser, and without seeing the vase in person, I would lean towards a French origin myself. Doesn't mean I cannot be wrong.

twentiethc : I've done more research and I now lean toward Mont Joye. This piece is not signed but according to Kovels most Mont Joye vases are not signed.

Sorry!..I just have to say again it again!...I can't stopping looking at your vase it is JUST!!! so beautiful!.. the enameling is to die for......:-)

inky....yes the flowers are so finely done.....almost like Japanese enamel work. Of course the Art Nouveau style was influenced by Japanese art.

Mont Joye is where I was leaning as well. If it were pottery, I'd swear it was a Frederick Rhead design. Do you know if he ever designed pieces for Mont Joye?

Either way, it's gorgeous. I'm still kicking myself for not just buying it when I saw it as opposed to spending too much time trying to identify it first :)

twentiethc : don't know about Rhead. I felt the same way about buying. If I really like the piece I buy now and research later. And at the price it was offered I thought this piece will not last long before it's gone.

Hello, this fabulous vase was made by legras' factory of Saint-Denis at the early XX century. The original name of this vase is "Danube".
I really love this color called "smoky brown" and the enamel !
