Found this at the Oshkosh estate sale over the weekend I worked at , ive never seen anything like this before , shes very beautiful . paid $5 for this , I don't know too much about this . she could be made out of bronze ,brass, or copper . I don't know any ideas or any info would be great.

Mystery Solved

I think you're right about the souvenir! I assume it's supposed to look like the most famous statue in Copenhagen, the Little Mermaid (1913) commemorating the H.C. Andersen fairy tale. Nice find!

Hi! I saw this in Denmark! It is famous for many things! The arms and head have been cut off, defaced many times, etc. But she survives! Now moved farther out in the harbor so tourist do not climb on it.

Sorry I cannot help I also have trouble telling bronze & brass apart copper not so much because of the colour it's self usually but I could see this in my small collection of females myself well done for the $5.00 with prices like that how can you go wrong it's about what I pay for things & sometimes can get a few things for that price. I'm hoping we move into a house sooner rather than later this year.

Sure I have one of these somewhere!! From memory it had writing on the base saying " joan de arc" , mine is the same figure in bronze colour on a small polished granite base about 2" diameter the whole thing was about 3-4" high I thought it was a tourist collectable from france .. check it out on the net, they are quite common in uk & have seen them with all sorts of bases.. hope this is helpful
