Having almost ZERO storage space in the San Francisco apartment, I had to create my own. Quite a number of years ago, I visited this outrageous turn of the century five floor brick warehouse in SF. There were huge rooms on every floor with nifty old furniture. This was a true antique warehouse with great prices! At that time, collectives were just coming into play, but as the years went on, small collectives were popping up all over the City. Sadly, in the last 10 years, almost all have closed their doors. Back then, I spotted this classic gentleman's oak armoire in one of the rooms and knew immediately it would become a shelved storage cabinet for me. I didn't take a pic of the interior because I have gotten a bit sloppy with my stuff:) Suffice it to say, on the right side, I installed 6 shelves for canned good, cereals, wine, you name it. The left side already had its original shelves for my cleaning supplies, clock parts and supplies. 68" height x 36" wide x 16" deep. Just wanted to add that this is a Fitmore LTD armoire and holy cow are they ever popular in England. They seem to be on the hunt for them for their own personal use. For the most part, you cant give away armoires here in SF now, but they were all the rage 25 years ago and somewhat pricey.
