    Found this at a yard sale today. It is 4 1/4" l x 2 1/4"w x 1/2"h. It has 4 raised sections, you can see them in the 1st photo, so it must have been made for something specific to fit in it. I can't find anything even remotely like it. It has either the number 9 or 6 on the bottom. Thank you!

      I think that is an old toy sad iron trivet.

      You should be able to find lot's of examples of these, every house had one & fhrjr is correct it looks like a good one.

      These little 4" trivets are not that easy to find.

      Thank you all so much, especially you nutsabotas6. I spent hours on Google today and could not find a thing. I guess I am going to finally have to give in and give Bing a try!

      I agree with you AzTom, i did not see any small trivets for sale. It's shape is so different from a "regular" trivet that I was stumped. The way the front, at least I think it is the front" , turns down is peculiar.
