Found this globe at goodwill for $7. price sticker was exactly over Wisconsin and Yooper Michigan. Atho I very carefully peeled it away....both states are gone. I was not happy at all - will have to use colored pencils to fill it in. Pissed me off - of all the places the GW worker could stick the sticker....he/she chose to push the sticker hard down "Hey buddy, I'm from Appleton, WI - right here, let me show you...." 70% of Earth is ocean.

Marked Replogle Globe. Researched on ultimateglobes.com and I believe this is around 1962. It took a few weeks before Cumi and Theo would check the globe out. It's too slippery - and ROUND - they still believe the world is flat. Now that the photo's been taken EARTH has been moved away from their favorite rest stop.

Amber - they look huge as they scrabble their feet to stay on top...no they're my 2 little budgies. I put the globe in their favorite place (the HP printer by the LR mirrors) and waited for 2 wks to get that shot of them.

Those feathered babies are sooooo cute. Enough to cheer anyone up ;) I just love to hear our canary churp. Sun conure, well he'll overpower any sound. LoL
Sorry about that darn sticker Val. I agree with Phil, the metal base would make much more sense. Everyone should start asking the cashier to remove the sticker before ringing it up. That way you can pass on the item if the sticker causes damage, and maybe the employees will finally catch on and find a sensible spot for those annoying stickers. xo I hope you're in better spirits soon. Luv ya!

Yes Phil - they put a 2nd sticker on the metal base...I guess if these were separated. Very annoying. Goodwill go figure.

Thanks Aim - so true. I could have peeled the sticker away at the cashwrap. Anyway I wanted a globe so $7. seemed a bargain.

Aim - oh now I get it - swypo typo! I'm going to get 2 little finches so I have a soft churp to counter balance the loud squawking....

Love the photo, lol, how can anyone Not love that:) i keep reading about Good Will (GW), is it a US way of saying Charity?
    21. Vintagefran Vintagefran, 7 years ago
PS, Like your comment..70% water! Lol. Shame the globe was damaged. I think they price things up so quickly they don't think 1/2 the time. I'm for always peeling stickers off pottery to see if there's a mark under it, & been surprised to find marks on glass which were covered.
    22. valentino97 valentino97, 7 years ago
Vintagefran - GW is not the Bush son. Goodwill is one of our charity organizations - also Salvation Army, Amvets, DAV, St. Vincent DePaul and more "chain" thrift stores that give some money to their causes. These thrift stores are not the down and dirty cheap kind - but there is a difference in pricing all across America so it's worth it to check them out wherever a traveler might be.

Thanks for your comment about stickers - yes always fun to see other prices or marks below! Thanks for loving my little sweeties.

And mine too nutsabotasd6! where to go this year for vacation....
    24. Vintagefran Vintagefran, 7 years ago
Interesting info on GW. In the UK, charity shops vary considerably from shop to shop, even the same charity will have different prices. Pricing down to the manager. I sticking prices o. Yesterday & was very carefull where i put them :)
      Your sweeties are the cutest!!!
    25. valentino97 valentino97, 7 years ago
Thank you Vintagefran - yes prices vary here too even if it is a chain thrift store from region to region. Goodwill is a clean operation. They even colorize the clothing. I love all thrift stores - generally the really scary ones the best. These little birds are so much fun. I don't have kids so these are my focus. Tiny little birdbrains.

Attwood I hope you are having a wonderful time!

Vintagefran - thanks for your love and tiny little birdbrains comment. 4 green parrots have been visiting the palm trees outside my apt. around 7:30 am for the past week. My birds are in a frenzy squawking greetings.

Oh my! Love the names! :) we love going to pet shops and watching the parakeets, so funny!
    37. valentino97 valentino97, 6 years ago
Jewels me too! Theodor Frankenstein is named that because he/she has an anklet TF 3 numbers. I didn't feel right naming he/she Tammy Fay altho that came to mind first. And Cumi - is white and blue like the clouds so that was an easy name.

That's so funny and creative Val!
