Carved Stone idol from Africa ?

Bought this from a local thrift shop in Dallas. A lot of donations come in from wealth homes in the area, I always find some unexpected treasure when I stop by there. I usually don't buy this kind of item but I was behind the glass case along with some wood carved statues. It's very heavy, that's why I think it stone instead of fired clay. Looks ancient but who knows ? Any help with identifying the region of origin would be appreciated. It's about 8 in tall and 2 in wide. Weighs about 2 lbs
