Almost the same image as the one posted yesterday. This view of York combines the image of the Minster, the walled path and the grassed area of the old railway station.

I have no idea why you would have two postcards of the same spot. There might well be some reason to compare the two images. I'm open to suggestions.

This card was part of the B & R Camera Series of lithographic postcards that were views of England. The publisher was a firm Brown & Rawcliffe, Ltd. (1903-1907) Liverpool, England.

Very nice, I was there in november. The York minster is beautiful + the old Shambles.

That is probably the most famous view of York of any image ever drawn or photographed. Its very close to the train station, and I (at one point) had an apartment a couple of hundred meters behind the Minster as it is viewed. In the foreground is the building housing a company I worked for as a lad of 16. Hepple Hunter & Smallpage, a wood furniture-making business and french polishers (and upholsterers) owned it. The etching shows some buildings to the right, one of which is a real ale pub. Delicious. I remember York when there were barely a hundred cars in the whole city on a weekend (1964). Now, its a traffic jam on the central outskirts, with cars banned in the City center most of the day. Be careful though, at night the witches and goons stalk the city for fresh meat.
