I thought as long as I was posting my uncle’s commemorative rifles, I’d post his two handguns as well.
At the top is a reproduction of a Remington 1858 New Army Revolver in .44 caliber by Filipeta of Italy. There were a few rust spots when I got it from my uncle that I buffed out and re-blued, but they are still visible. I had a lot of fun with this black powder pistol while it was on entrusted to me, and I’m considering getting one of my own now that it’s gone.
The lower handgun is an Automag III by AMT in…get this… .30 Carbine! I have never seen a pistol in .30 Carbine before, and it’s quite a hand cannon.
These belonged to my uncle who left them in my care when he moved to Mexico where the gun laws are prohibitive. He passed away last month and I am grieving his loss. This last weekend his son came to pick his father’s guns up. I decided to photograph them as I got them ready to go.
Love the Automag. That seems like something that would be fun to shoot. I've been podering getting one of those reproduction revolvers myself. They look great.

Can't imagine the Automag being comfortable to shoot. I've supplied a pile of those tiny North American revolvers & it seems everybody wants the .22 mag. Never fired one & have no desire to either!
fortapache, usually I don't buy repro guns, but let's face it - If I laid out the cash for a real '58 New Army, I'd probably be afraid to shoot it anyway.

Blunder, The chambering makes for an unusually wide (front to back, not side to side) grip. I have long fingers, so it feels good in my hand, but I think a smaller handed person would have problems with it. While the recoil is strong but not severe, this is one to those guns that are loud enough to turn heads on the range.

The rest of my guns will be posted in the military section except for the week of fathers day, when I plan to post a pair of pre-1964 Model 70 Winchesters
Chrisnp, I haven't been on puters a real long time. Old dog learning trying to learn new tricks. When you say "the military section", is this a different site that I have to go to? Seems to be fewer & fewer real collectables on CW & maybe that is the site I need to be on. I'm signed up for the Mil. caps & mil. items sites where things are for sale but don't think that is what you are talking about.
What I meant is I usually post in the military category in Show and Tell here on CW. This time I posted in the general category since there is no military connection. I thought some people who might want to see these would miss them.
