This vase has been in my family since purchase. Originally bought by my great aunt (I never knew her) she gave it to my parents as a wedding gift in 1950.
Designed by William Moorcroft, this pattern is called Pomegranate.
It can be fairly reliably dated to 1928. It has the correct Moorcroft Made in England backstamp, green William Moorcroft signature, and I still have the original paper sticker "By Appointment to Her Majesty". These three marks, as far as my research shows, only appeared together for one year, then the backstamps changed slightly.
The date also ties in with a letter my Dad wrote explaining provenance of the vase and when Auntie Gert bought it.

These early Moorcroft's are my favorite. The slipwork was very fine and there is less texture to them than later items. I also like the subtlety of the colours.
    160mm tall.

It's beautiful Karen :)......I would love to find an original Moorcraft vase. The closest I've come is this piece:

Thanks Mike! That Cobridge vase is lovely.
I am lucky - probably would never buy one for myself but this one has some family history too!

Lovely piece. I have a pomegranate vase that is almost 100 years old and the glaze is superb. Like the vase in the picture, it is as vibrant as the day it was made. I try and add pieces to my collection but the old, signed pots are now attracting very high prices.

Thanks John. I agree the older Moorcroft is very special, but getting out of reach in price now!
I would love to see your pieces.

I'll try and work out how to get my pictures on here. I've just bought a wisteria vase off ebay and as you say the prices seem to be escalating.

I had not seen this before, and looking for something similar to what I am to post found this old post of yours. Expect doing well Karen.
