These shears belonged to my Grandmother. They have gold colored handles with small flowers, the Keen Kutter label, and pearl handles. I think they may have been from the 1930-1940's, but I am not sure. I have not been able to find them in a catalog. They are in great condition!
Does anyone know when they might have been made?

These are pruning shears used for plants, I suspect your Grandmother had Roses because these are very high quality, I'd check the Kleen Kutter website for age.
I keep things like this away from my wife, cause sometimes I bring home something she thinks that I should not have bought. Nuff said.

My dad had a pair of those in his tool box back in the sixties, and they looked old then-maybe he got them in the 50's. Not near as fancy, but I remember the spring and clip at the end to keep them shut. I always thought they were Tin Snips, but I see now the handles would be too short for that. The spring was dangerous looking, so I only used them as a last resort. Was this type of spring used by anyone else?

I believe you have poultry shears. They were very common dinnerware in the late 1800`s & early 1900`s. Mine are very similar except they are sterling silver. The cut out near the hinge is for cutting bone & shears for skin. Some online are over $500.00! The mother of pearl handles & gold wash finish indicate these were high style back in the day.Hope this was helpful...
