Here is the bangle chapter of my bakelite collection (so far), I like to get the pieces out every 6 months or so and photograph them to see how it's coming along. Is that sad? I don't care. They're pretty.
My favourite pieces are the black 'basket weave' carved bangle, the Jakob Bengel-esque cherry red piece with enamel and chrome buckle, the deeply carved floral black piece, lathe carved teal prystal, and the most recent additions of the pair of chunky stardust bangles (which were a total STEAL). Plus my first ever bakelite find, the chunky red 2nd from the top of the central stack, which I picked up from a car boot- relatively unheard of here in the UK!
I'm currently restoring the Pierrot carved piece on the right stack, as it's missing all the rhinestones. It will be fabulous when finished!
FANTASTIC!!!
I love your collection and thank you for sharing it! Look forward to seeing more of your obsessions. It's good to get your collection out and look at it and document it. I have a lot but mine do not stack up to yours!
OMG! Thats lovely! Its gonna take me many more YEARS to match such a great collection!
I have never befor seen these startburst bangles in bakelite. Thank you for educating us and showing your obsession.
Thanks guys! I got into bakelite about a year ago, and it's something I can't believe I went so long without until then ;) My boyfriend says he's going to build me a 'bangle barn'.. he's an enabler.
You collected this much in a year? That is very impressive. Keep the boyfriend. Mine kept asking why I wasn't selling on ebay (I got rid of him).
Vmode and Valentino97,
Thanks for the motivation, (both to collect and get rid of the boyfriend).
Wow! Great!
