hi, this is probably the major piece of my art glass collection. a great art nouveau glass vase with gold and enamel patinas. antique greek pattern, with acid etched pattern. I've found some of pieces from BURGUN & SCHWERER ( meisenthal glassworks) , who who where very close, one had also the same pattern but not in the same. I call the ancien director of it glasswork but he dident get the model in the catalogues.

i think this the modele could be made in the periode 1885-1900 but it is a total mystery... maybe a few models made for some international exibition...

H 20 cm. signed on the base vallerysthal.

well, the mystery is solved, i've just by DESIRE CHISTIAN' book , the signature used is from1890 - 1898.

the acid etched pattern in greek antique styule is inspired by the illustrations of WALTER CRANE.

So is this a symbolist design by Désiré Christian?

Perhaps someone has a copy of "Verrerie d'Art de Lorraine Désiré Christian" by Philippe Olland?
Around 1897 Vallérysthal changed direction and went in the artistic direction dictated by Munich and Vienna. Charles Spindler, Otto Kruger and Bruno Paul set about working in the new direction.

HI vetraio50 i have also the cappa's book, and i also think that should be his work.... i called the anciens director of the vallerysthal glassworks, he dident have this piece in the vallerysthalcalalogues, for me is a rare or unique piece made for some exibition not a commercial serie.
