Cudos to period_gems for such a great buy. Maybe this is the piece exhibited at the Barn you made your original attribution from?
:O
Who's a good book then. You're a good book. Yes you are :D
Thank you so much for taking the time to find and post this Jewels1900. It does appear to be the same jewel which was exhibited too, so that's good. I was scared for a moment that these were suddenly popping up everywhere and possibly being copied but it seems I'm save! My first and probably last piece of Gaskin seems gen-u-ine! :D
Another book to add to my needs purchasing list.
Thanks again Jewels, you're a star :)
No worries. I've been looking for that book for over 9 months now. Lucky for you I didn't find it earlier! Excellent buying.
Hi Jewels1900. We are new to Collectors Weekly and loved your photos. Sorry to see they have been removed. I guess that someone used them online somewhere without permission - the perils of the internet! However we did have some thoughts on attribution on some of the items you had posted and would be glad to share these thoughts with you, if we could establish contact in some way. We live in Scotland and are avid collectors of Arts and Crafts jewellery in general, but Scottish items in particular. Hope that we can make contact!
Hi artsandcraftsfan. I'd love to chat arts & crafts & hear your ideas. Zip up to the top of this page & you'll see a little email envelope icon under the photos which you can use to make contact.
I love sharing with other collectors & getting the chance to chat & have a bit of fun. I will post some more photos but maybe only a few at a time & rotate them around a bit.
I love Scottish arts & crafts design and have a neat little collection of jewels & objects. I also love visiting even thought its freezing there! (Like really freezing!)
Hi Jewels1900,
Thanks for getting back to us - we appreciate it. I looked at the email section just below the photo, but it is asking me for your email address which I don't have. Am I being dumb or have I missed something! Maybe a senior moment!
PS We have a good number of Rhoda Wager and Dorothy Judge pieces which we've picked up over the years. We will share some photos once email contact is "established".
Regards, Artsandcraftsfan
Not a senior moment artsandcrafts fan. It doesn't work as I assumed it would. I've asked a friend to set me up an email address without my name in it so I can post it for you. In the meantime, you don't have any association with Doune do you? If so I may have met you a few years back. Look forward to checking out your Wager, I've just started paying off a ring by Rhoda which is completely different to anything I've seen of hers.
Hi Jewels 1900, have the address and will make contact using it. Keep an eye out for our message. look forward to our conversation!
Super artsandcraftsfans. Chat soon.
Hi arts&crafts fan. Just checking that you received my email?
Hey Jewels, the only mail button I can see there is to email a link of this page to someone. I'd love to keep in contact with you and others without people ripping us off, is there a way we can keep in contact?
How do you know people were using your photographs without permission, can I stop people doing it to mine also? This is worrying/annoying and extremely disappointing, I'm sorry that it happened to you.
Hi period_gems. The problem was that someone pinned my photos on their Pintrest board. Because of the way they can pin they missed my message asking for my photos not to be reproduced. To give the 'pinner' credit, she did remove them immediately when I asked (thanks if you ever read this). I found out because I was doing a bit of online research & my photos came up.
The good news is that by finding my photos I did find out that I can set up private boards which I can then choose who I share with. (I've been working on this). It's just a shame that I can't continue to share here in the same way I've done previously. It's just not secure enough.
Anyway, just after this post I'm going to post my email address. If you can let me know when you've got it, I'll then delete it.
nooo!! I couldn't get online for a couple of days.
Sorry
hmm, there must be a simple way of doing this.
oh, I got it :)
I know you wouldn't be fooled by these, but I thought it was interesting to share :-)
