    This piece has clearly had a rough life, but also seems unusual. I'm told it was dug on a farm in West Virginia. It looks like the top half is glazed, and the bottom half is not (except for a drip). Has anybody ever seen something like this?

      My guess is that the bottom unglazed part is so the water(?) would soak thru & the evaporation would cool the contents. Interesting piece & thanks for sharing. Welcome to CW.
