This unique piece belonged to my dad who found it in the attic an old private hunting lodge built in the 1920s. He stopped some kids from shooting it with a beebee gun in the early 1980s and brought it home. It took me 10 years to talk him out of this piece of art. We have no clue to the origin nor the artist and unfortunately it is not signed either. Although, this does not distract from the beauty of it to me.
Does anyone know anything about this unique 3 faces of Eve?
i have no idea but boy how much better it would look in my home...lol...great piece
I'm sure it would look really nice in your home, but hey it has looked pretty good in mine for the last 10 years...Its an awesome piece. Every winter i make it a point to spend time online researching it, but I find nothing, although I have not looked under folk art. Perhaps I will check that
Or is it the Id, the Ego, and the Super Ego ? Do you know what type of wood it is ? Manay carvers use indigenous woods. Most carvings of this type, that I have run into, are either African or Hispanic/Indian from Central and South America.
How about the three ages of man...Youth, Manhood, and Old Age. (Or the REAL three ages of man...Single, Married, and Divorced !)
I have no clue to what kind of wood it is. I once thought it was teak, but its really heavy so I really don't think it is teak. I like Youth, Manhood, and Old Age. My dad always called it the 3 faces of evil, I never saw it as evil. So for everyone else I called it the 3 faces of Eve, I named him Hugo and thats usually how I talk about him. Geez..I call it a him, but called it 3 faces of Eve for show...what was I thinking?
