My brother-in-law Leonard, from Leonard, MO loves old things in their original container (cardboard, tin, etc). He found this Obviously Never Used amazing Coilette which sold for .95.

"It positively ends nuisance of tangled and twisted appliance cords & coils approximately 50" of cord!"

Moneyback guarantee, Huff Sales Co., Seattle, WA US Patent 1,790666

Well, we figure the housewife decided it was a bit too complicated and since it was .95 threw it in the back of a cupboard. I plan to give the Coilette its first life as a bracelet - sorta homage to Alexander Calder. My luck it will untwist it's beautiful coated-metal self and snag something for the next 50"....We laughed a lot about this invention.

Amazing what people waste money on patenting.

I have one of these, just found it in a drawer of Mum's odds and sods. Same company but located in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Being in Australia, myself, I have no idea how far they would have to have moved, or when, or which way as neither of these items seems to have a date. The package label is totally different. It doesn't seem that I can attach a scan of this here so I will have create my own S&T when I have time. I just peeled back a sticker with '61' on it and underneath is '29c' so I think mine is much older. The price difference is very large and implies a long period of production?

Hi SleepyPhoenix - I can't imagine this actually worked! It make a nice bracelet though. Maybe it was a give-away with appliance purchase? What do you plan to do with yours? I have worn mine.
