Next is this stoneware dish. This is a great piece the condition is about perfect. Marked on the back with a few names as well. Maybe the owners or potter? Still I love this plate I am guessing that is an "A"? I am going to start looking to ID the marking now. Thanks for looking!

annelanders are you questioning my question? Or are you also guessing that is an A? The design on the front of the plate, I was guessing it was an A

If you position the "A" upside down it actually resembles a bird / seagull in flight. Seems strange to me that a letter would be so rough looking...just a thought!

hi Bock, I was questioning what you meant by the A, yes..lol
Anyhow, if you look ay it side ways it does look like a bird in flight.
I thought it might be Villeroy and Boch but think there is other writing on there..and the VB band isnt across the mark. But it looks lke a German mark.
Try googling those words. I tried but I can't make sense of them...

      Good luck :)

maybe Kev or Sean as they collect a bit of German and Scandinavian glass. For example, VB do porcelain, glass and stoneware. Kev and Sean are mainly glass but sometimes their glass makers cross over...see how you go...

Very Interesting. I think it is a bird. and yes it looks like Schilla.
