Sharing w/you 2 pretty tiles that a friend gave me. They were part of a series (of course!) from the 1940's - 50's. On back marked AE 1 and other AE 2 w/made in USA. My friend who gave them to me is from PA, which is right next to OH.

    Mystery Solved

Didn’t find your birds, which have more detailed decoration, but here’s one with a similar relief detail:

Here’s an interesting article on tiles. Near the bottom of the page there a couple of paragraphs relating to this company

Mary I already heard back from Bungalowbill and found out my tiles are from the 1940's - part of a series. Yes, American Encaustic, Zanesville, OH. So thank you! And also the nice people from Bungalowbill!

I know what you are saying FanciGirl - one more thing to collect? I love birds things but I try to only buy things I REALLY love and not become the even weirder bird lady that I already am....big sigh.

And thanks to kivatinitz for loving.

Thank you Marta! I love them so much. Plan to hang the when I get the right frame. I have another tile of 2 flying geese that a tile expert said was worth some $$$. Wish I had kept the name of the online expert who was so kind and excited to tell me about my tiles. I love bird and flower art.
