Can't believe I found these, but going thru old family photos, here they were. It shows my brother, David and I playing with our big jims. Both at home and at grandmas. I remember clearly how important it was that I got to take big jim with me. See, grandma lived on a big hill in the bay area and we would line up our campers and they would bullet down the hill, sometimes falling apart on the way down, but that was the beautiful thing about toys back then, you just simply pushed the body back in place and your ready to go. Yeah plastic cracks and scratches, but we didn't care. I took him everywhere, camping, trips, anywhere my parents would let me.

David is on the left and I"m on the right. The cowboy in the solo jim pic, was not an official Big Jim piece, he was a wondering cowboy that came to make friends with this guy with a futuristic camper machine. at least that's what I was pretending. God for one more minute of those days.

great pictures rayme!! this truly takes me back the cowboy actually almost look like a johnny west cowboy doll that i have. Big Jim was the best the camper was great cuz you could really use your imagination looking inside of to pretend he was really using everything in there, for some reason i dont think we had the boat but who knows maybe it floated away ha ha

Bob, yeah it very well could have, unfortunately my boat is cracked, but I"m a bad collector cause if their a little flawed I really don't mind, I do like to have all accecories but that's hard sometimes. Yeah having lost my brother a couple years ago, these were nice to find, see the innocent days before life kicked our butts. Your right on about the imagination with that camper tho, it was awesome, the 79s motive with the posters, I would put pots and pans in the sink and fill it with water, it was endless. I think Mattel is missing the boat not bringing these back out as a re issue, I know i'd be there. Take care Bob talk to you soon.
