We were just given this dining room set by some friends. We really like it, but have no idea of it's history. Does anyone have any idea of how old it is?

Very nice it reminds me of Danish modern style . Maybe someone else will jump in on your post that knows more about furniture . Fhr knows a lot he may beable to tell you more when he see's it . Nice gift !
