Rare antique Russian orthodox icon representing Madonna with child
Mid 1800s
The icon is hand painted and represents the Madonna with child with gilded details such as a raised crown. Surrounded by real gilded wood.
The frame is made of brown wood with glass. It closes with a hook but is off. On the back there is a hook to hang it on the wall.
Sizes: 30 x 26 cms (11.,8 x 10.2 ")
I have taken a close look at photographs taken of the pictures and I think it is hand painted or drawn.
In a good condition, the wood has a tiny chips, some paint loss., nothing serious and this does not detract from the beauty of this religious piece of art!!
