As far as she knows, drawer knobs have been replaced. Bottom trim and top trim removed. The dresser has been in her family for as long as she can remember.

Well worth carting around, I think.

That's what I was thinking as well. Someone offered $100 for it, but we aren't sure if that value is reasonable, as we aren't sure about the dresser.

If anyone monitoring can assist in identifying this, and possibly offer info on its worth, it would greatly be appreciated.

Still seeking advice with regard to my questions. Wife is getting anxious, the potential buyer is getting anxious and I don't want to sell off a "treasure trove" for what it isn't worth. The anxiety from the buyer leads me to suspect the dresser is worth more than the offer or maybe they just like restoring old things?

Don't sell it for $100. is the best advice I can give you off the top of my head. Have you researched Duncan Phyfe already? Maybe this link will help you in dating it.

I definitely wouldn't sell it until you're sure you know what you have. These days even pieces that aren't "antique" can be collectible worth a good bit. This dresser looks like it needs a drawer repaired and it looks like it's been refinished at some point, these can decrease the value but if you repair it could be well worth it if your selling.

      well worth the repairs, I mean...not the $100. offer. I simply wouldn't take $100.

Thank you Nola. My wife is pushing to sell it off. Relieve clutter. I'm doing everything I can to find info on this to show her lol

It would have been nice to see the drawer construction (joints). If it were mine I would tell an offer of $100 goodbye and have a nice day.

I agree with fhrjr2 completely. Anxious buyers may well know something you don't or are looking for a steal. Of course we are just looking at some pics that really don't show joints & other construction details.

I would suggest you do not sell that for $100. I wish I had info for you but it's worth well over 100!

I believe that the drawer shows it's made of cedar as well. I also think if you take off one of the pulls, it should have a number engraved on each one. Those appear to be original, but I'm not positive.
