I need some help please identifying this vase which always looks familiar to me but has never told me it's name.

Well made with very fine parallel moulded ribbing that has been twisted. I think the ribbing and twist were possibly done before blowing as the lines widen through the belly of the vase.
There is no trace of mould lines, the lip has been flame finished and the pontil beautifully ground.
There is no evidence of it ever having a stopper and in fact no age evidence on it anywhere.
Maybe it has been recently made but whoever made it has done a class job.

I think it has a Scandinavian feel to it but it fits nothing I have found from any usual suspects.

    Height 24cm (9.5in)

    **Update**
This vase has still not been identified but general consensus from various glass groups is that it is probably Bohemian.

Ribbed anything these days and my first thought is Gullaskruf.

Yeah I get that to Kevin, but haven't found it.
The colour is right and the ribs are kind of right, and it is well made, but if it's Gullaskruf I can't believe how well it has been cared for - no marks even on the base!
I will keep going that direction thanks!

Referred it to the FB group for Gullaskruf.
I have had no response from a general glass group so far!

      Thanks for the help everyone.
Bohemian didn't cross my mind Czechman but I have posted it to the Art Glass Collectors Group and I will see what happens.
It's had a negative so far from the Gullaskruf Group.

Rose I just need to organise myself to post to the GM board...thanks for reminding me.

Any word on the group on this piece? Extreme novice on glass but I think this one is DOPE.

Thanks Steve. Sure is a class piece but no ideas yet!

Nice piece racer! Though it's not, It reminds me of some antique blown molded Zanesville ribbed flasks...beautiful. And thank you for the compliment on the Vermont autumn landscape photos you posted this morning. Do not sell yourself short, you may not have the autumn we have here in Vermont where you are in Australia, but there are certainly some awe inspiring landscapes over there. Like most Americans, I always thought of the outback, kangaroos and baby stealing dingos when I thought of Australia. Then about 12 years ago, I had the pleasure of skiing racing with some Aussies and they informed me of the "Victorian Alps," and that not far north of Sydney there are some temperate rain forests and the aboriginal legend of the rainbow serpent...I have been intrigued ever since. One day I would love to ski over there. Anyway, thanks again!

Hi Karen, i came across this vase while trying to find out about my blue hyacinth vase. Its pontil & ribbing are similar, gives it nice effects:) i was wondering if mine could be Scandi? If it wasn't for the age wear on it I'd say it was new.

It's interesting Fran because I saw this decanter in a deep mulberry recently at an antique fair and it was advertised as Victorian glass. Like mine and yours, it had very little wear. They couldn't confirm the Victorian attribution but it may be?
I know little about Victorian glass - maybe you would have a better idea?
