Yard sale find last weekend. Was suspicious about it because of the near flawless condition of it. Very hard to find the 1915 hobbles out in the wild even in old dig sites. This one has no case banging wear or damage and hardly any base ring wear. I was pretty sure no one ever reproduced the first Madison Wis. Hobbles so I bought it any way because it was dirt cheap as far as 1915 originals go. It appears to have typical Root heel embossing print. Maybe some of the experts will know for sure if it is a repro or not. I don’t think it is as it has seeds and straw marks. A modern repro would not likely have these typical early machine made glass molding flaws.
Mint or near mint first run hobbles from a number of bottlers are few and far between. I have seen them sell for as much as $50 a piece for some bottler locations. Not exactly a dime.
I love it is from Wi ! I was not aware we had a bottling company for coke in Madison . Very cool !!

I just checked my copy of Bill Porters's bottle guide and it has 1915 Madison, Wi listed as "R" which would be rare. Page 8 states in the how to use section "R Rare (5-20 known) "
Thanks Tommy1002 for looking that up, I didn't know there was a guide like that out there.
