    This was given to me from my sister , she said it was my fathers that I bought him in 1972 coming out of boot camp , I believe this one is not that watch , I believe it's an older watch . What can you tell me , were these sold in 1972 ?

      The styling and bow suggest, timeframe you indicated...remove the back cover and date code on back of movement...take photo and I'll tell you when produced. The first series of these were produced in 1938...your's is not that one, but same dial configuration from then to approx. 1980

      I thought I had these posted...here's link to mine...you'll see the differences and yours is the later model shown....with exception of the black dial, instead of blue. which either were offered:
