    LOUMANAL
    (436 items)

Another Vase that I picked up today is this 4 3/4" tall by 2 1/2" diameter one that could be a WELZ example or possibly a RUCKL. I went through the examples in the Welz "shapes" library and found a blue one with a very similar hexagonal base. It has a clear outer layer with an inner mottled (spatter) white layer over a red inner layer. The color looks a little orange but the photos were taken in evening lighting conditions. The clear layer on the base makes it look as if it has a fluted base but it is flat with a slightly recessed under-base . Has anyone seen this exact shape on a Welz vase? RER(BOB)

Thanks for your input Lee...saw a lot of nice Art Glass today at a local Flea Market but couldn't afford most of it. I did buy a few nice items that were reasonable. Will post a fabulous Kosta Boda -Erik Hoglund creation tomorrow that I picked up today. Thanks for the love to you and SEAN68. BOB

OK.. I'll say Legras on this one too since no one has positively ID'd it yet.... just a thought. Although Lee should know best.

I thought I would add the link to the décor here for you also:

      http://www.kralik-glass.com/welzredgrayarray.html

This shape, which is quite unique, is seen in a Welz décor referred to as Harlequin Spatter. The last image in the following link shows the shape of this vase in an identified Welz decor:

      http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/162823-welz-harlequin-spatter--a-very-distin?in=activity#comment-758504

Based on that, I believe this to be an example of Welz production.
