Found at my Great Aunt's after she passed away. It says W. Germany on the side of the handle. Was it supposed to have a strap of some kind?

Anyone have any idea how much it might be worth?

Is it stamped Sterling? Many of these were not Silver and the price would vary greatly. This one looks plated. The size is also important. A tiny Chatelaine purse in Sterling would bring more than a full size 1920's era purse. One with woven colour links brings more than plain ones..etc... RER
