Hi, forgot to say it looks to be vaseline glass in that light, have you tested it under U.V ?
Hi Susan,Thanks for the info.I did put it under a black light and its not Vaseline glass.Wish it was but its still pretty.

Im finding out that it could also be done by Westmoreland Glass co.No marks on it so Im not sure how to tell.Any Ideas???

Hmmm, just looked for Westmoreland and it looks as thoght they made the same item, i dont know much about American glass but i will ask a few freinds.

Thank you ! as to your pot i think if it feels very crisp and the detail is very fine you can take it as an early one as the mould would be little used, if that makes sence.
we have one just like that, ours looks a little darker green though. We found a westmoreland marking in the center of the bottom side of the lid.
I checked there and see no marking.Maybe it is Vallerysthal.That would be nice...

its a westmoreland product, i own one in a sanitized yellow. if nothing else think about color timeline, if it was Vallerysthal, it would be vaseline. does not detract from how awesome it looks in the sunlight
I agree with hobnail-lover, this does appear to be Westmoreland Argonaut, which was made in many colors of glass, or a reproduction. You might check for the WG logo.

Vallerysthal did make opaque green glass; here is a page from their 1907 catalog (and based on the color of the "paper", this page has been lightened quite a bit so the actual green would be deeper):

Also, I believe that the Westmoreland version has several differences, the most obvious one being that on the lid there is no connector between the shell garlands (it's sort of a smooth bump) and the VP version has an ornament. Yours appears to have the ornament. The lid in the VP has less glass inside, and the space comes to a conical point, whereas in the WM there's more glass and it's rounder.
