Tiny little sweet cheap (not right now) 60's realistic tin litho pinback parakeet, 1.5"x.5". There is also a yellow one out there but I don't have it yet. I love this silly pin. It reminds me of Bevo (pic 3) and yes that's Cumi peeking out. Wasn't easy to take this selfie but so many laughs.
Lots of tin litho parrots (ugly -cartoonish) on ebay for way too much money. I also have the butterflies, moths and bugs - much nicer.
This last picture is for Kyra. Disco Cumi Cloud who might or might not pose for a picture. Today he enjoys the Helmut Newton exhibit postcard for "white women, sleepless nights, big nudes". In true Cumi-style he wants to show off his blue color on his underside (butt!) that reflects off the master's photo. But he did not poop on this.
awe Pretty bird :-)
Thanks Mani - so nice of you to say!
I meant both of them :-) Does real your bird on window talk ?
Very nice post. You would fit right in around here. You could say we are "for the birds". Ours are all live but always enjoy seeing the old toys.
Mani - my birds will not talk. I've had Cumi since he was a month old - hand raised but he was traumatized as a baby when his mother disappeared (she flew the coop!) so I've always had another bird with him. They enjoy flying to the window sill and screaming at people walking along outside. It's pretty funny to watch. Scares the passerbys outside.
Thank you fhrjr2 for enjoying! I love birds! Obvious isn't it? I am pretty sure I'm going to have birds for the rest of my days....in fact looking for some sweet little finches for the bedroom to offset the screams and screetches from these guys in my living room.
Awwwsome!!!
So kind to post your sweeties (tweeties?) !

Fantastic catch of Bevo and Cumi, must have been a hard job, lol.
The tiny tin is lovely too, please post the creepers and moths too!!!
Kyra I thought you might enjoy!
Thanks Kyra for enjoying my tweets. They aren't easy to catch unless I "corral" them to a place they enjoy and put a prop for them to be curious about.
Here's the post w/the other tin litho critters. http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/76318-if-something-bugs-you
Again - your bugs are really nice! Love them - thanks for sharing.
Wonderful, first I thought it was a real bird!
Elisabeth - is the picture that real? No, but very kind of you to say! It was fun staging this silly photo.
Thanks other friends for love: Pops, Kevin and Geo.
Thanks Phil!
They have their eye on you!
All of them are beautiful birdies.
Thank you racer! Yes they know who feeds them but other than that they're just birds darn it.
Thank you FanciGirl! I love these birds too.
Thanks to everyone who has loved this post!
Thanks FanciGirl and toenail2 - you enjoy fun costume jewelry too - it was a very rare selfie that Bevo got away from me at the perfect moment. This was for a Christmas card 3 yrs ago and has gotten many laughs from my family & friends.
Really " LOVE " the third photo:) Perfect timing!
This is the most sweet, love it!
Im too love the third photo!!!
Lol Mary, the real birdies steal the show here - love love 'em
Jenni - yes, I am the weird bird lady...Cumi is still ruling the roost (my apt.) He's 11 but still not tame enough to handle. Oh well, love him anyway on his own terms. Bevo died a few years ago. Now it's just me, Cumi and my 2 guy finches.
Midday and Virginia - thank you for your nice comments! Friends, for all the loves.
Good for you Mary, people who've never owned birds can't believe what amusing and rewarding pets they can be - hubby & I had three male keets at different times, first guy lived to 12 (aqua & white like yours) and had such a vocabulary, often phrases or just words thrown together...."and I love you", "it's good for you" etc. We were truly heartbroken with each loss, so now husband says "no more." But I miss the joy of being a bird owner esp the cheerful chirping :)
This post is always a pleasure when it comes around again. I am down to five birds now. The youngest has turned into a wonderful talker and is pretty much potty trained. Although when he uses the potty box he has to announce it with; I DID A DOO DOO! I DID A DOO DOO! Seems he thinks it is front page news. :)
Jenni - I always had at least 2 keets for the last 20 yrs, so I get another bird when their friend dies because it's heartbreaking that they are alone. In all these years I haven't had a talker. Cumi whispers to me early morning but I can only guess or make up what he might be saying. THEN, he's over it, doesn't want to be around me. I love that he flies and lands on my cover first thing in the crack-ass of dawn. I have been so heartbroken as I lost my dear parakeets especially my first - Valentino. I took her everywhere! She hid inside my sweater. I thought all birds would be as cool as she was. And...that's when we realize that they are unique and such a gift. I've always thought that God exists because of birds and flowers.
fhrjr2 - thanks for giving me some love about my bird obsessions! You have 5? I love my sweet Cumi Cloud. I don't know why he won't talk. So Funny about your youngest Did a Doo Doo! I cuss at Cumi all the time...still won't repeat. ha ha !!
